So far the IS101 spring class has been a lot of ups and downs. Honestly, more downs than ups but I'm getting better about it. Working on getting all caught up at the moment, and hopefully I do well on the M110. One big thing I'd change is my attendance. I feel like I've probably shown up to maybe 1 in 4 classes and its just been tough to hold myself accountable, and that's of course impacted my performance in the course.
4.8.3 Advanced table Formatting
Advanced table formatting was probably the most useful lesson to me in terms of using Word effectively. Whenever I needed to make a table for one of my CCNA courses, I'd do it in such an obtuse way to get it to look right, and I'd have to tweak it over and over again just to get it to look like a proper addressing table. But once I actually sat and took the information on how making tables on a Word document can actually feel like when I know what I'm doing, I felt very silly. It seems like such a small thing, I thought to myself, "eh I don't do it often enough to justify learning the right way," but once I actually figured it out. It's made doing that kind of homework way less tedious.
I'd probably try doing our A and B practices a couple of times over to get a feel for how the grading works. The grading checks can feel a little odd at times for TestOut, so figuring out how they actually work would be a priority of mine.
One last little thing I'd like to share with everybody is that things can get rough sometimes, but that's ok. You can sit down and let it sink in for a while, but just don't take too long to get back up.
Hey Enrique. You are holding yourself accountable in your downs and that's always a good start. Keep working hard to get caught up and you will succeed. Formatting tables has been a big help to me at work and I am glad its helped you as well. And you are correct, getting back up is what's important when things get rough.
ReplyDeleteI totally feel you! The ups and downs can be tough, but it’s great you’re working through it. The table formatting in Word was a game changer for me too — it’s so much easier once you learn the right way. Good luck with TestOut and the grading, and I love your last point — don’t stay down too long, keep pushing forward!
ReplyDeleteHey Enrique, ups and downs are the way to push yourself forward. You gotta keep grinding. Hope you get caught up and achieve more than what you expect from this course.
ReplyDeleteHi there Enrique! It’s awesome that you’re pushing through and catching up. That self-awareness about accountability really goes a long way, I respect that. Repeating the labs until I felt confident definitely helped me pass the MO-110 exam, so keep at it! Wishing you the best of luck, Enrique. You got this!
ReplyDeleteHiii Enrique! Yeah, the advanced table formatting is an awesome skill to learn, and I think it's great that you are able to do your homework now more efficiently. Besides that, I totally get it, I have been in that position before, the downs can definitely feel heavy, but once you decide to get that momentum started, everything starts coming together. I am so glad to hear you're persisting through, I know you will come out victorious!
ReplyDeleteHey there Enrique, It sounds like you're really pushing through some challenges, and it's great that you're learning from your experience with the class. ReplyDeleteGreat reflections sticking with the class even after some bumps shows real grit, and it’s awesome that advanced table formatting clicked for you. M110 will feel smoother now that you’ve found a better workflow. Keep practicing those TestOut labs, tighten up attendance, and you’ll finish strong
ReplyDeleteHey Enrique, I am glad to hear that you came back. Most people would not have made the attempt to recover, so I definitely wish you the best. Take your time on the labs because I do think they helped me with the exam. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Enrique! I am really glad to see that you are continuing to push through this course and that you have not given up. I used to also play around with tables in Word over and over again to fix the formatting before I really learned how to use it. Now that I know how to properly use the formatting tools, it has definitely helped save some time and effort on assignments for work and school.
ReplyDeleteShout out to you for continuing to push yourself, you are still doing more than the people who straight up quit the course in this semester and prior. So, no need to beat yourself up.
ReplyDeleteYes, advance table formatting was an interesting topic to learn.
Hey Enrique,
ReplyDeleteI really appreciated your honesty in your latest post. Acknowledging the challenges you've faced and your determination to catch up shows a lot. It's awesome that you're taking steps to improve, especially with our certification exams!
It's amazing how learning the proper techniques can transform a tedious task into something more manageable and even enjoyable.
Wishing you the best, you're doing great!! ^-^
Hi Enrique, Its great to see that you are working hard to catch up to this class. I agree with your last statement, dwelling on something too long is not healthy.
ReplyDeleteHi, hope you are able to catch up. You got this!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you, I get it and I too have been inconsistent with my attendance but I'm sure you can push through!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree that things will always get rough but we can’t give up. Even when we do take a break, all the work load starts adding up causing more stress but as long as we get back up and keep trying that’s what really matters 😊
